about

Sandia - Djelifoli.
The Djelis (also named "griots" by the first colonists) constitute a caste specialized in the mastery of speech. Historians, singers, musicians (some instruments are reserved for them), they play an important role in the malian society.
In this song, the Djelis celebrate their condition. The dance performed with this rhythm is very graceful.
