about

This double CD presents songs and rhythms from Mali as they were played in the old days. Songs play an important role in this music, as they do in the malian society in general. The main stages of life (birth, wedding, death), social relations (men-women, family, castes, etc...), folk wisdom and everyday life are their subject matter.
Enjoy this beautiful music and listen to this grand master!
